Bitcoin Price Prediction: $82K Support Cracks, Now What?

Bitcoin 1H chart showing BTC price prediction with $82K support, resistance zones, order block and bearish target levels

BTC/USDT 1H chart: key support and resistance levels after the $82K sweep.

Introduction:

Bitcoin just lost the middle of a two-week range and swept the $82K pocket. The 1h chart on BTCUSDT (Binance) shows price at roughly $82,700 after a wick to about $81,800. This is a breakdown that is trying to bounce, not a trend reversal yet.

The Setup in Plain Terms

BTC ripped from the mid-$70Ks to about $87,300 in a single impulse around Sep 21–22. Since then it has traded sideways in a roughly 83,000–87,000 box.

Bulls failed three times near $87K (Sep 22, Oct 2, Oct 5). The last push, around Oct 6, topped out near $86,600. That is a lower high, and the market started bleeding right after it.

Price then sliced through the $85K mid-range and the 83.5K–84K shelf. Today's wick took out the 82.5K–83K range lows from Sep 28–29. That is a classic liquidity sweep of obvious stops.

Key Levels (Approximate, Read Off the 1h Chart)

  • 87,000–87,300: triple-tested range high and major supply.

  • $86,600: lower high from Oct 6. Bulls need to reclaim this before anyone calls a new uptrend.

  • $85,000: range midpoint, now resistance.

  • 83,500–84,000: broken support, the first real sell zone on a retest.

  • 82,500–83,000: range floor that just got swept. Price is trading right around it.

  • $81,800: today's wick low and the intraday invalidation for bounce trades.

  • 80,000–82,000: the Sep 19–20 consolidation, likely the breakout order block.

  • 78,000–80,000: the impulse gap from the Sep 18–19 breakout.

  • 74,500–75,000: the major swing low from mid-September.

What the Tape Is Saying

The decline from $86K was orderly. I don't see one capitulation volume spike on this sell-off, which means weak hands haven't been flushed yet. That cuts both ways.

The current bounce is small, and it comes off a wick. A wick alone doesn't make a reversal. I want a 1h close back above $83.5K with volume before I trust it.

Bearish Case

Sellers keep control if price accepts below $82,100 on a 1h close, or if a retest of 83,500–84,000 get rejected. That would confirm the range breakdown.

  • Targets: $80,800, then $80,200, then the 78K–80K gap fill.

  • Invalidation: 1h close above $84,000. That puts price back inside the old range and turns this breakdown into a fakeout.

  • Confirmation checks: rising open interest while price falls (fresh shorts piling in), or funding flipping deeply negative (crowded shorts, which raises squeeze risk).

Bullish Case

The sweep below $82.5K could be a stop run before a snap back. If bulls reclaim $83,500 and hold it, the range is back in play.

  • Targets: $85,000, then $86,600. The full range high near $87K needs a fresh catalyst.

  • Invalidation: 1h close below $81,800. The wick low gets taken and the bounce thesis is dead.

  • Confirmation checks: volume expansion on the reclaim candle, and funding staying neutral instead of overheating.

Trade Setups

Bounce long (aggressive, counter-trend):

  • Entry: 82,300–82,500

  • Stop: $81,650

  • Targets: $83,600 (about 1.6R), then $85,000 (about 3.5R)

Retest short (higher probability):

  • Entry: 83,300–83,800 on a rejection candle

  • Stop: $84,300

  • Targets: $82,000 (about 1.9R), then $80,500 (about 3.7R)

Size small. A 1h chart in a chop-to-breakdown transition punishes anyone running full risk on the first candle.

Macro and Catalysts to Monitor

  • US macro data and Fed speakers, since the dollar and yields drive risk appetite.

  • Spot ETF flow prints. Persistent outflows would back the bearish case.

  • Weekend liquidity. Thin books mean cleaner sweeps in both directions.

  • Funding rates and open interest on major perp venues. Verify these live. I haven't quoted numbers I can't confirm.

Bias

Bias stays bearish below $83,500. Short rallies into 83.5K–84K, and treat a close below $81,800 as the signal for the $80K order block. Only a 1h reclaim of $84,000 flips me neutral.
